SEASON OUTLOOK

Last year's team MVP Annalise Bratt, along with Ashley Delp, figure to be the top scorers his season. Delp was expected to be a full-time starter last year, but an ankle injury sidelined her all but the last few meets. Bethany Pollock is also a returning starter and will compete in four events. Kelsey Jacobson is up from the Wings club team and will compete in four events. Captain Caylee Cash is currently out with a non-gymnastic shoulder injury. For the opener, Torie Yoakum and Brooke Barrett will each do two events. The Cardinals see the conference powerhouses right away. They are at runner-up Brainerd tonight and then host defending champion St. Cloud Tech on Tuesday. Willmar moves from the northerly Section 8AA into 2AA, which includes the west metro, plus both Mankato East and West.
FROM THE COACH
Larry Selchow comments: "We always look forward to competing at Brainerd and their fine facility. It's an excellent program and our gymnasts are always made to feel at home up there. Both Tech and Brainerd will score in the low 140s, maybe better. It's hard to say at this point just where we'll score (A 134 at New London-Spicer was last season's high score). Annalise (Bratt) and Ashley (Delp) both look tough and their competitive spirit carries over to the rest of the team. (Kelsey) Jacobson adds a lot. Lydia Christianson could help us later and we hope to have Caylee (Cash) back soon. We have about 20 in the gym from the junior high and they show a lot of promise. With those numbers we are looking for an additional coach.
