WILLMAR -- The Willmar City Council will hold a hearing Tuesday night on an ordinance authorizing the issuance of $8,730,000 in municipal utility revenue bonds. The bonds will be issued to finance construction of the Municipal Utilities' two wind turbines.

The hearing will be held in the chambers during the council's regular meeting at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Utilities Building, 700 Litchfield Ave. S.W. The council meeting date was changed from Monday to Tuesday because city offices will be closed on Presidents Day.

A hearing is also planned on ordinance amendments recommended by the Mayor's Housing Task Force. The ordinances relate to exterior maintenance standards; exterior storage; off-street parking; removal of snow, ice, dirt and rubbish; and responsibilities of rental housing owners to provide rubbish disposal.

The council will receive comments during the open forum, and will receive presentations from the Citizens Energy Group and Speak Your Peace Civility Project.

Also, council will receive reports from the Finance Committee, Public Works/Safety Committee, Community Development Committee and Labor Relations Committee, and the council will consider the mortgage and promissory note for the Westwind Estates project.
