WILLMAR — The Willmar Destination Playground at Robbins Island Regional Park will be closed Thursday and Friday as crews install new shade structures at the playground.
Also closed will be the road loop around the island, due to the large equipment that will be on site.
Willmar Parks and Recreation said the playground should reopen Saturday.
The shade structures were one of several improvements the Destination Playground group planned to make at the facility this year. They also included upgraded trash containers and a water softener to improve the operation of the water misters. The project was funded using money left over from the playground construction.
