WILLMAR -- After beating St. Cloud Apollo 4-3 for a second time in four days, Willmar advance to the semifinals of the Section 8AA-South tournament Friday.
Willmar's third win in its last four matches gives the No. 4 seed a date with top seed Becker Monday at 1 p.m. at Gold's Gym in St. Cloud.
After falling 6-1, 6-1 to Briann Anderson on Tuesday, Willmar senior Haylee Thompson reversed her fortune and posted a 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 win to give the Cardinals their fourth point.
Sophomores Ariel Johnson and Ashley Johnson also won Friday at 3-doubles after losing on Tuesday.
"Things are going well for us," said Willmar coach Erika Kath. "We had some girls that lost the other day step up."
