OUTLOOK
While graduation losses were large numerically (12) and will impact depth, especially in the relays, most of the point scoring returns from a year ago. Three senior divers will assure Willmar scores well at mid-meet: Bethany Pollock and Laura Polman are the highest-finishing divers returning in Section 3A. Senior Sarah Hund and juniors Aleasha Blokzyl and Alissa Tinklenberg were state qualifiers. Tinklenberg has qualified for state 16 times in four years and won 14 state medals. Coach Carl Shuldes comments: "We should be OK in sprints and diving and the core (of the team) is solid, but we need the freshmen and sophomores to step up and fill some holes." The True Team section meet is at St. Michael on Oct. 11 while Willmar will host the CLC meet Oct. 30 and Nov. 1, followed in two weeks by the Section 3A meet at Hutchinson.
