Dave Aus, a captain on the 1986-87 Willmar Cardinals hockey team that won a Central Lakes Conference championship, is head coach of the Blaine Tigers, who entered the Class AA state tournament on a 21-game unbeaten streak.
Blaine, which started the season 3-4, topped Lakeville North in the quarterfinals, 7-2.
Aus is the son of former Bethel College head coach Peter Aus, who formerly coached at Litchfield and Willmar.
