Willmar, Litchfield to meet in 8AAA-South

No. 2-South Willmar and Litchfield, the No. 3-seed, will meet in the boys basketball Section 8AAA quarterfinals for the second time in three years on the Cardinals' court at 7 p.m. Thursday. In 2004, heavily-favored Willmar rejected Litchfield's upset bid 50-45. The winner will play the Fergus Falls (No. 1 North)-Thief River Falls (No. 4 North) winner at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Cloud State. In the lower bracket, Rocori (No. 1 South) hosts Little Falls (No. 4 South) and Detroit Lakes (No. 2 North) hosts Park Rapids (No. 3 North).
