DASSEL -- A 54-year-old Willmar man was arrested after a short standoff with law enforcement Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Meeker County Sheriff's office, a report was made around 4 p.m. that a man had entered a home along the 21600 block of 746th Avenue. A wallet and other belongings had been taken from the home.
The county K-9 unit tracked the suspect to a home nearby. Officers then discovered that he had also broken into that home. After a short standoff, he came out of the home without incident.
The man was taken into custody on burglary charges and a warrant for escaping from custody from Anoka County.
