WILLMAR –– A 21-year-old WILLMAR –– A 21-year-old Willmar man is being held in the Kandiyohi County Jail on $100,000 bail after making a first court appearance Friday on three felony criminal sexual conduct charges for allegedly having intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.
Elmer Antonio Fuentes is charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, including one count that specifically alleges the use of force or coercion.
According to the criminal complaint filed against him, Fuentes met the girl through a mutual friend and he reportedly knew she was 13 years old.
Fuentes is alleged to have had intercourse with the girl Monday and Tuesday. On one of those days, the girl had been babysitting when Fuentes allegedly came to the house.
The complaint said that during one of the encounters, Fuentes grabbed the girl and forced her to bend over and that when she tried to get up, he pushed her back down.
Police were notified of the incident Wednesday night when they received a call from Rice Memorial Hospital, where the girl was being examined for a sexual assault the night before.
Fuentes was granted a public defender and Judge Bruce Christopherson set unconditional bail at $100,000 and conditional bail at $20,000.
