Willmar man identified as pedestrian struck in Mille Lacs County accident

According to the State Patrol, Anthony Ingwald Dokken, 70, of Willmar, was struck Sunday night by a vehicle as he was walking or running down state Highway 169.

ONAMIA — A Willmar man was injured Sunday afternoon after being struck while apparently walking or running on U.S. Highway 169 in Mille Lacs County.

According to the State Patrol, at around 12:22 p.m. Sunday, Anthony Ingwald Dokken, 70, of Willmar, was struck by a 2019 Chevy Equinox driven by Larry James Angeles, 70, of Golden Valley.

The report said the vehicle was going south on Highway 169 at 300th Street and that Dokken “ran eastbound in southbound lanes” and was struck.

Dokken was taken to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol. Angeles was not injured.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash and roads were dry at the time.

The Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office and Mille Lacs Health Systems assisted at the scene.
