WILLMAR -- Miguel Gregorio Camarillo, 33, of Willmar, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of second-degree assault for robbing a Willmar liquor store where he once had worked.

As part of a plea agreement reached in Kandiyohi County District Court, another felony charge for first-degree aggravated robbery will be dismissed. He will be sentenced Feb. 27. The charges were filed after Willmar police officers and Kandiyohi County sheriff's deputies responded to the panic alarm sounded at 9:10 p.m. Nov. 24 from Gerry's Liquors, 810 Litchfield Ave. S.W. The store clerk and citizens in the area gave a description of the man and pointed out that he was hiding behind a vehicle a couple of blocks away. He was then taken into custody.

The store clerk said he knew Camarillo because the man had worked at the store about three months earlier. He said while they struggled for control of the knife, Camarillo said he had a gun.

The clerk handed over the knife, made a positive identification of Camarillo and told officers the entire incident was recorded on video surveillance.
