Willmar, Minn., School Board meets Monday

WILLMAR -- The Willmar School Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday in the board room on the first floor of the Willmar Education and Arts Center.

The agenda includes the resignation of board member Eric Roberts, who has moved outside the boundaries of the school district. The board will decide whether to appoint a successor or to leave the position vacant until the November election.

Also on the agenda is the approval of a number of personnel transfers and appointments, including the hiring of a new elementary principal, Todd Goggleye, for Kennedy Elementary. Also on the agenda is the transfer of Linda Bahe from Kennedy dean of students to Assistant Principal for Kennedy and Roosevelt elementary schools.

The agenda includes approval of a lease agreement for Apple iPad tablet computers for the Senior High as well as resolutions related to this fall's School Board elections. The terms of Sandi Unger, Wayne Lenzmeier and Mike Reynolds will expire at the end of the year. Roberts' term would also have expired at the end of the year.

The board will close the meeting at the end of the meeting, as allowed by state law, to evaluate the performance of Superintendent Jerry Kjergaard.

The board will listen to public comments related to items on the agenda at the beginning of the meeting. Those who want to comment on issues that are not on Monday's agenda may do so at the end of the meeting.
