SAUK RAPIDS -- Willmar made sure it didn't become the lone mark in Sauk Rapids' Central Lakes Conference win column, beating the Storm 76-53 in boys basketball action Friday.

The Cardinals (11-7, 14-10) hit back-to-back three-pointers to end the first half and took a 41-30 lead, then pulled away with a quick start in the second half to hand Sauk Rapids an 0-18 league record, 1-24 overall.

"We got easy buckets at the beginning of the second half, which allowed us to pull away," said Willmar coach Steve Grove. "We did a job finding the open person, but the first half was a little ragged."

The Cardinals limited Sauk Rapids to 23 points in the second half.

Kyle Townswick led the way with 18 points, including four 3-pointers. Cory Hanson added 15 points and Matt Roisum had 14. Willmar shot 53 percent from the field, including 8 of 16 from three-point range.
