WILLMAR -- The Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and the city of Willmar will host an informational meeting for business owners who may have questions about collecting the city's one-half percent sales and use tax.
The meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Willmar Conference Center.
Guest speaker David Herzberg from the Minnesota Department of Revenue will answer questions about sales tax collection, which will begin Jan. 1, 2006.
The sales tax was approved by voters in November 2004 and authorized by the Legislature in 2005.
The city hopes to raise $8 million over seven years to pay for four local projects.
