ST. JOSEPH -- Willmar reached the championship game of the Ninth-Grade State Boys Pacesetter Tournament before falling to Pelican Rapids 38-36.
Willmar topped Mankato 36-31 in the quarterfinals as all eight players scored, led by Isaiah Streed with nine points and Alec Saunders with eight.
In the semifinals, Willmar nipped Faribault 37-35 with Taylor Filipek scoring 14 points and Saunders 11.
Streed scored 13 points in the championship game.
Willmar finished the season 16-2, winning three tournaments and finishing second twice.

Streed led the team in soring this season with an 11.9 average. Taylor Filipek averaged 10.1. Ryan Filipek led the team in rebounding at 6.1 per game and Saunders led in assists at 4.2 per game.
