WILLMAR - Farmers will have an opportunity to learn about effective strategies to control corn and soybean costs at a University of Minnesota Extension presentation “Barriers to Bushels.’’
It will be 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Kandi Entertainment Center in Willmar.
Current, research based information will be presented. University Extension Educators and specialists will discuss topics with proven fertilizer, pest, soil and weed management with the intent to ultimately increase a producer’s margins.
Topics include: Economic Pest Management (Bruce Potter), Managing Corn and Soybean Diseases (Dean Malvick), Weed Management, Looking Towards the Future (Jeff Gunsolus) and P and K Movement in Fields (Paulo Pagliari/Dave Nicolai).
Past participants expressed that they have profited and value the research based and timely information from the Barriers to Bushels meetings. The speakers encourage an open discussion format designed to support audience interaction.
The cost is $30, which includes lunch and handouts.
