LITTLE FALLS -- Hanna Pederson threw a one-hitter to lead the Willmar softball team to a 4-1 win over Little Falls Thursday.
Pederson struck out eight, including the side in the second inning, and walked one. The only hit was a single in the fifth. She started the game by retiring the first nine batters she faced, then ended the contest turning away the last seven.
The Cardinals (4-6, 7-6) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, then Little Falls tied it in the fifth.
Willmar rallied for two runs in the sixth. Chelsey Wierschem walked and scored on Sarah Hulscher's double. Amanda Croonquist followed with an RBI single, scoring Hulscher.
Bobbi Sather and Brittney Hastad also had a double each for the Cardinals. Wierschem scored two runs.

Willmar also took advantage of five walks from Little Falls pitching and four errors from the defense. Two of the Cardinals' four runs were unearned.
Defensively, Willmar also committed four errors, but they only led to one run.
