WILLMAR -- Yolanda Sandy Enriquez Jaimes, 42, of Willmar, was sentenced Tuesday to 30 days in jail, 100 hours of community service and five years of probation on a felony charge of wrongfully obtaining assistance.
As part of her sentence handed down by Judge Michael J. Thompson in Kandiyohi County District Court, Enriquez Jaimes was also ordered to pay $8,950.29 in restitution as well as a $50 fine.
As part of a plea agreement, three felony charges of violating public assistance declaration requirements were dismissed.
According to the complaint, Enriquez Jaimes has received public assistance for parts of the past 20 years. In 2000, she began living with Eduardo Jaimes-Velasquez Jr. and reported he was a Mexican national -- unable to work legally in the U.S. -- and the father of her child.
They married in May 2001.

In 2006, Enriquez Jaimes reported she and Jaimes-Velasquez were separated and that he no longer lived with her.
In 2009, family services officials received a report that Enriquez Jaimes and Jaimes-Velasquez had reconciled two years prior and were once again sharing a residence.
Officials also learned Jaimes-Velasquez was employed by Jennie-O Turkey Store.
Enriquez Jaimes failed to disclose Jaimes-Velasquez's income, resulting in an overpayment of $8,950.29 in benefits between December 2007 and June 2009.
