WILLMAR -- The National Weather Service in Aberdeen, S.D., says a fast-moving storm system is forecast to trek across South Dakota and into west central Minnesota during the day Saturday.
Atmospheric conditions as the system develops could produce accumulating snowfall, the Weather Service says in a special statement issued today, but specific amounts are uncertain. Gusty winds from the north and northeast will accompany the system, and blowing and drifting of any snow is possible.
High pressure building in rapidly behind the system suggests that winds will diminish during the evening hours Saturday, according to the special weather statement. Cold air will follow this system for the rest of the weekend.
