WILLMAR - A winter storm warning remains in effect until noon today, according to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen.
The National Weather Service cautions that gusting winds and blowing snow could make travel difficult in areas of west central Minnesota this morning.
Winds of 25 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 40 miles per hour are expected in the Willmar area.
Blowing snow could cause slippery conditions.
The strong winds are ushering in a cold front that will see temperatures continue to drop. The high today is forecast at 16 degrees, with temperatures dropping to 3 degrees tonight. Tuesday’s high will be 10 degrees and the low minus 6.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to check the 511 road site for the latest reports on road conditions.
