A former Superior educator charged with sexually assaulting a teenage boy pleaded guilty to one charge of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree Tuesday in Hennepin County Court.
William Rehnstrand, 66, will be sentenced for the felony March 3.
In court Tuesday, Rehnstrand acknowledged that he knew the victim was 17 when Rehnstrand accompanied him on an overnight trip to Eden Prairie on Aug. 20, 2008. Rehnstrand and the victim stayed at a residence in Eden Prairie and slept in the same bed, he said. Very late Aug. 20 or in the early morning of Aug. 21, Rehnstrand performed oral sex on the boy.
As part of his terms of release, Rehnstrand will not have contact with the victim or his family, will not have unsupervised contact with minors and will not own or distribute pornography. He will also complete a sex offender program, though the specific program has yet to be selected.
Rehnstrand made no comment other than responding to questions from his attorney, Robert Paule, Hennepin County prosecutor Elizabeth Cutter and Judge Philip Bush.
