DETROIT LAKES, Minn. -- A Detroit Lakes woman faces several criminal charges after driving drunk with children in the vehicle, authorities said.

Taynee Lee Lohnes, 24, was charged in Becker County District Court with felony drug possession, along with two gross misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated, three gross misdemeanor counts of child endangerment and one misdemeanor count of driving without a valid license.

According to the criminal complaint, Callaway-Ogema Police Chief Tim Haverkamp observed a vehicle drifting and crossing the center line while traveling south through Callaway shortly before 10 p.m. April 2.

When he stopped the vehicle, he saw two adult passengers and three children -- ages 11, 4 and 10 months.

Lohnes appeared to have slurred speech and there was a strong odor of alcohol, the complaint said. She was arrested and taken to jail, where a routine search revealed a baggie containing two pills inside her bra, the complaint said. The pills were determined to contain the drug Percocet, for which she did not have a prescription.

Lohnes’ bail was set at $5,000 with conditions or $12,000 without conditions. Her next court appearance is set for April 21.
