DANUBE -- A 61-year-old woman was airlifted after a crash around 3 p.m. Thursday on Renville County Road 1.
According to the Renville County Sheriff's Office, Donna Macholda, of Minneapolis, was transported to Regions Hospital. Her current medical condition is unknown, they said.
Shortly before the crash, she had been driving a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 pick up truck south on County Road 1, in Beaver Falls Township, 13 miles south of Danube.
As she attempted to turn east onto 770th Avenue, the side of her vehicle was struck by a GMC Yukon. Macholda's vehicle entered the ditch and overturned.
The driver of the Yukon was 19-year-old Mario Regalado of Omaha, Nebraska. He had been attempting to pass a truck and the Chevrolet, and didn't see Macholda turning because of a truck between their vehicles, the sheriff's office said.

All passengers were wearing their seatbelts, the Renville County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office was assisted on the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Redwood Falls Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance and North Memorial Air Care.
An investigation is ongoing.
