GRANITE FALLS - A man was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis with a lacerated liver and lung after being stabbed.

Jennifer Lynn Mead, 36, of Granite Falls, has been charged with second-degree assault - substantial bodily harm and second-degree assault, both felonies.

Mead was released on her own recognizance following a bail hearing last Wednesday at Yellow Medicine County District Court. She was ordered not to not enter the alleged victim's residence, not to enter bars or liquor stores and remain law-abiding. Her next court appearance, a settlement conference, is scheduled for Nov. 26.

According to court documents, the Oct. 22 incident at a residence on the 900 block of 10th Avenue in Granite Falls involved a fight among Mead and four other men, one of whom was stabbed. Court documents said three of the men believed Mead could have taken $1,000 from them and they went to confront her about it.

There were several different stories given to law enforcement about what exactly happened, but Mead admitted to stabbing one of the men, court documents said.
