WILLMAR -- A 28-year-old woman was injured early Tuesday morning after crashing her car into a pole while attempting to avoid a stray dog.
Teresa Jo Fossen crashed her car near the intersection of 15th Avenue Northwest and County Road 5 around 12:34 a.m. Fossen told authorities that she had swerved to avoid a dog that was in the road, and crashed into the pole.
Fossen was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. She was not wearing her seatbelt when the car crashed.
The Willmar Police Department, Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department, Willmar Ambulance, Willmar Fire Department and Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad assisted at the scene of the crash.
