PAYNESVILLE - An Elk River woman has died after a motorcycle accident early Saturday near Paynesville, according to a State Patrol release.
Chelsey D. Nielson, 21, was the passenger on a motorcycle when, shortly after midnight, the rear tire went flat. The driver, Jeremy D. Hoffenkamp, 28, of Atwater, lost control of the bike causing it and both riders to skid into the ditch on state Highway 4 near 220th Street in Stearns County.
Hoffenkamp suffered serious injuries and was air lifted to trauma centers. He is listed in critical condition.
