BROOTEN - A woman was injured in a crash Monday afternoon in Brooten after she fell asleep while driving and crashed her car into a parked vehicle.
According to the State Patrol, Mary Elizabeth Shuckhart, 79, of Glenwood, was driving a 2013 Chevy Impala west on state Highway 55 at Pleasant Avenue in Brooten when she fell asleep, ran off the road and struck an unoccupied parked 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Shuckhart was taken to Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
Roads were dry at the time of the crash, which was reported at 2:24 p.m.
