VIRGINIA -- The Ridgewater women's basketball team finished its season-opening northern road swing 1-1 after falling to Mesabi Range 58-42 on Saturday.
Ridgewater trailed by one, 26-25, at halftime but ran out of gas in the second half against the Norse's much taller front line. The Lady Warriors are playing with a short bench until the return of players from the national champion volleyball team this week.
Bridget Boehlke scored 14 points and Karen Christopher added 13 points for Ridgewater, which made just 15 of 50 field-goal attempts.
