NEW LONDON -- With five individual champions, New London-Spicer edged Canby to win its own six-team wrestling invitatonal on Friday.
The tournament was originally scheduled to have eight teams, but Benson and Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg pulled out after each of those closed Friday due to blowing and drifting snow.
New London-Spicer had 200 points to 194.5 for Canby. Eden Valley-Watkins was third with 167, Litchfield fourth with 148, Kimball fifth with 136 and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa sixth with 101.5.
Individual champions for the Wildcats were Ben Henle at 103 pounds, Chase Austvold at 112, Shawn Hatlestad at 130, Billy Dean at 152 and John Nething at 171. Dylan Hanson at 125 and Luke Reiter at 140 each were second for the Wildcats.
Austvold was named the meet's Most Valuable Wrestler.

Litchfield's Kyle Ballard at 119 pounds and Kody Kalkbrenner at 189 were champions.
Cole Tensen at 140 was BBE's lone champion.
