Wrestling: NLS first at BBE Invite

BELGRADE -- New London-Spicer senior heavyweight Stephen Westby was named the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Invitational Most Valuable Wrestler Friday night, leading the Wildcats to the title in the season opener.

BELGRADE -- New London-Spicer senior heavyweight Stephen Westby was named the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Invitational Most Valuable Wrestler Friday night, leading the Wildcats to the title in the season opener.

Westby received a first-round bye, then pinned his next two opponents.

Also winning titles for the Wildcats were: Chad Henle at 103 pounds and Adam Luberts at 145.

The Wildcats had 167 points to 153 for runner-up Browerville/Eagle Valley. BBE was fourth with 127.

Champions for BBE were: Tyler Rath at 119, Danny Borgerding at 130 and Travis Rath at 140.
