GROVE CITY -- Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City turned in a dominating performance in its own tournament Saturday, placing all 14 wrestlers in the top three spots, including nine champions.

GROVE CITY -- Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City turned in a dominating performance in its own tournament Saturday, placing all 14 wrestlers in the top three spots, including nine champions.

Scott Litzau, a 119-pound sophomore for ACGC, was named the tournament's Most Valuable Wrestler after winning his first match by a first-period pin, upsetting top seed Ethan Hildebrandt of St. James 1-0 in the semifinals and then earning a first-period pin in the championship.

Also winning titles for the Falcons, who were third in the Class A state tournament last year, was defending state champion Jeremy Anderson at 103 pounds, Ben Meyer at 112, Bill Wheeler at 125, Matt Pearson at 135, Travis Whitcomb at 140, A.J. Frederiksen at 160, Nic Leither at 189 and Dave Nelson at 215. Wheeler earned his 100th career win.

The Falcons finished with 254.5 points to 149 for runnerup St. James. Willmar was third with 121.5 points.

Travis Frederiksen at 152 pounds, Micah Larson at 171 and Josh Lies at heavyweight all placed second for ACGC.

Willmar had two individual champions: Drew Larson at 152 pounds and Trent Molacek at 171. Brandt Haglund at 135 and Brandon Rieckman at 160 were both second.

Winning individual titles for BBLH was Chris Harmon at 140 pounds and Brian Hagen at 215. Pat LeVasseur at 125, Ross Neubauer at 135 and Brent Christenson at heavyweight all placed second.

Yellow Medicine East was third with 127 points. Austen Cole at 112 pounds, Casey Field at 135 and Landen Cole at 145 won individual titles.
