WILLMAR -- The Willmar Cardinals wrestling team lost twice at its home triangular Friday.

The Cardinals fell to Becker, 39-30, and to Annandale, 37-25.

Annandale beat Becker 47-22 in the other dual.

Willmar returns to action Tuesday when it travels to Alexandria for a Central Lakes Conference dual. The Cardinals then host St. Cloud Tech next Friday.

Willmar picked up two wins by forfeit (160 and 215) and pins from Berto Cruz at 125 pounds and heavyweight Nick DeVries.

The Cardinals also got decisions from Adam Fagerstrom at 119 and Nathaniel Swoyer at 171.

Becker took a 33-9 lead after winning five straight matches in the middle of the dual.

DeVries won his second straight match by fall with 35-second pin. Nick Braun, at 130 pounds, pinned his opponent in 2:51.

Alex Johanees at 103 opened the match with a major decision and Zach Morris followed with a 6-5 decision at 112.

Coty Milhausen followed Braun's pin with a 5-2 decision to give Willmar a brief 16-9 lead.

Annandale then won six of the final eight matches to pull ahead and take home the win.

Cody Stegeman also won a decision at 160 for the Cardinals.
