FOREST LAKE -- Willmar went 1-2 at the Forest Lake Invitational on Saturday, but three Cardinals finished the day undefeated.

Brandt Haglund at 135 pounds, Drew Larson at 145 and Trent Molacek at 171 each went 3-0. Larson and Molacek had three pins apiece.

Willmar took down North Branch, 33-31, but fell to Monticello, 55-15, to end up in the third-place match, losing to Henry Sibley, 44-28.

Sibley led 32-28 with two weights left, but Willmar forfeited at 215 and 285 all day due to illness.

Coach Tom Beyer said of the three Willmar unbeatens, Haglund's feat was perhaps most impressive because "He faced three quality kids."
