COLD SPRING -- The Willmar Cardinals split a pair of Central Lakes Conference wrestling duals Thursday at Rocori High School.
Fergus Falls trimmed the Cardinals 34-28, but Willmar then rebounded to stuff the host team, 47-22.
Willmar continues its busiest stretch of the season -- five events in 10 days -- at the Eden Prairie Invitational on Saturday. Brandt Haglund, the team's 135-pounder, has been out with a sprained knee since Saturday's quadrangular.
Erik Borgos at 119, Nick Dahlke at 135, Drew Larson at 145, Brandon Rieckman at 160 and Trent Molacek at 171 each won twice. Larson and Rieckman are each 9-0 starting with the triangular at St. Cloud Apollo a week ago. Seven of Rieckman's wins have been by pin.
Willmar is now 5-2 in the CLC. Sartell leads with a 5-0 record and Little Falls is 4-1. Fergus Falls is now 3-2 in the conference.

Rieckman and Molacek each scored major decisions at 160 and 171, respectively, to tie the match 22-all. But the Otters answered with two pins to clinch the match. Willmar fell behind 7-0 to start before Borgos won the first of his two majors on the evening.
