MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Electricity has been restored for most of the 100,000 Xcel Energy customers who lost power during the storms that moved through the state on Friday, but crews will still be working today in some hard-hit areas.
Xcel spokeswoman Mary Sandok says there were fewer than 500 customers without power in the Twin Cities on Sunday evening and about 2,400 customers without power in the area from St. Cloud to Sioux Falls, S.D.
She says significant progress has been made in that area from central Minnesota west to South Dakota, but Xcel crews will be working today in St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, Belview, Bird Island, Hector and Cosmos.
