WILLMAR -- Affiliated Community Medical Centers has announced a five-year, $175,000 donation to the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA "Commitment to Community'' Capital Campaign.
The funds will help provide needed expansion space at the YMCA for youth and teens, special needs classes, personal training and additional program space for seniors and those with disabilities.
"Our commitment to health, wellness and our communities extends beyond our clinics,'' said Dr. Ronald Holmgren, ACMC chief executive officer. "We hope this gift will help provide the resources necessary to allow the YMCA to impact the lives of more children, families and adults for years to come.''
The campaign, which is being launched 10 years after the facility on Lakeland Drive Southeast was constructed, will provide the needed funds to expand the wellness center, construct a specialized room for "Ready to be Fit" exercises and special need classes, construct a large wellness studio, a new multipurpose gymnasium with a track, and two racquetball courts.

"ACMC along with the YMCA is dedicated to furthering the health and well-being of our entire area. With the help and involvement of ACMC and others in our community, the YMCA can continue to make a very real difference in our community.''

The YMCA campaign, which will continue through April 2013, is chaired by Jim Rieth and assisted by steering committee including Ken Behm, Dr. Kathryn Duevel, Dr. Marty Janning, Steve Linder, Scott Norling, Jeff Schultz, Dr. Lachlan Smith, and Don Williamson.
