GRANITE FALLS -- The Yellow Medicine East Sting (12-1-1) withstood upset-minded Central Minnesota Christian to win a non-conference volleyball match on Monday 25-20, 22-25, 25-17, 27-25.
The Bluejays (5-8) sprung to a 9-0 lead in game four, but the Sting patiently worked their way back for the narrow victory and the match.
The Yellow Medicine East attack was led by Macy McKay with 12 kills, Jamie Baker with 11 and Stina Leiseth with 10. Leiseth and McKay combined for 11 of the team's 14 ace blocks.
Courtney Knudson made 25 assists and Aimee Johson 16 for the Sting. Johnson also had six kills.
CMCS kill leaders were Briana Wubben with 14 and Mariah Brouwer and Lacey Tebben with eight each. Heather Blom set the table with 35 assists in 112 chances. Kelsey Bonnema came up with 14 digs.
