The Willmar Junior Gophers girls basketball team recently placed third at the Gus Macker 3-on-3 Tournament in St. Paul.
The Junior Gophers defeated Edina Sting 15-4 and Wild Things 5-4, lost to Team Pink 14-6, beat Lady Hustlers 15-10 and South Side 10-9, and lost to the Twisters 16-15.
The two teams the Junior Gophers lost to -- Team Pink and the Twisters -- placed first and second in the tournament.
Team members were: Carrie Boike, Kayli Gimse, Sara Kallhoff and Shantel Kelly.
