WILLMAR — There were five new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Kandiyohi County in Tuesday's state report, bringing the total confirmed cases among residents of the county to 420.
Single-digit increases since Monday's data release were also reported in Chippewa County (2), Meeker County (2) and Yellow Medicine County (1). Other than Stearns County, which reported 43 new cases, other area counties did not report increases.
Statewide there are 665 new cases for a total of 17,029 with 1,949 of them being health care workers.
There were 17 additional deaths attributed to COVID-19, for a current total of 748.
Most of the deaths, 608, have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities and 618 of the deaths were 70 years or older.
Statewide, there are 545 COVID patients currently in hospitals, 229 of them being treated in ICUs.
The Minnesota Department of Health is also reporting that 11,540 of the state's reported positive cases no longer need to self-isolate.
So far in Minnesota, there have been approximately 161,836 completed tests since Jan. 20.
The information was included in the latest Minnesota Department of Health daily situation update, released at 11 a.m. daily. The data released are current as of 4 p.m. the day before.
