WILLMAR — There were six new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Kandiyohi County in Wednesday's state report, bringing the total confirmed cases among residents of the county to 426.
There is an additional long-term care facility in Kandiyohi County that has been exposed to COVID-19. According to the report, GlenOaks Senior Living Campus in New London has had exposure, which means a person diagnosed with COVID-19 either visited, worked or lived at a congregate care facility while they were contagious.
Bethesda Grand in Willmar had reported exposure earlier.
Chippewa County had two new cases, Meeker County had one, Stearns County had 49 and Yellow Medicine County had one new case.
Statewide there are 645 new cases for a total of 17,670 with 2,025 of them being health care workers.
There were 29 additional deaths attributed to COVID-19, for a current total of 777.
Most of the deaths, 635, have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities and 640 of the deaths were 70 years or older.
Statewide, there are 2,308 COVID patients currently in hospitals, 212 of them being treated in ICUs.
The Minnesota Department of Health is also reporting that 12,227 of the state's reported positive cases no longer need to self-isolate.
So far in Minnesota, there have been approximately 167,338 completed tests since Jan. 20.
The information was included in the latest Minnesota Department of Health daily situation update, released at 11 a.m. daily. The data released are current as of 4 p.m. the day before.
