WILLMAR — Stearns County reported 36 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tuesday's state report and total cases rose by 37, bringing the total confirmed cases among residents of that county to 2,265.
County of residence is confirmed during the case interview and can lag the reports of new positive cases.
Yellow Medicine County reported two new cases, and Chippewa County and Meeker County each reported one new case. Other counties in the area did not report any new cases.
Statewide there are 444 new cases for a total of 36,303 with 3,638 of them being health care workers.
There were six additional deaths attributed to COVID-19, for a current total of 1,441.
Most of the deaths, 1,131, have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities and 1,170 of the deaths were 70 years or older.
Statewide, there are 270 COVID patients currently in hospitals, 136 of them being treated in ICUs.
The Minnesota Department of Health is also reporting that 31,601 of the state's reported positive cases no longer need to self-isolate.
So far in Minnesota, there have been approximately 605,316 completed tests since Jan. 20.
The information was included in the latest Minnesota Department of Health daily situation update, released at 11 a.m. daily. The data released are current as of 4 p.m. the day before.

Chippewa County: 75, up 1
Kandiyohi County: 565
Lac qui Parle County: 4
Meeker County: 58, up 1
Pope County: 10
Redwood County: 16
Renville County: 24
Stearns County: 2,265, up 37
Swift County: 20
Yellow Medicine County: 29, up 2
