WILLMAR — Single-digit increases in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported Tuesday across west central Minnesota.
Kandiyohi County had one new case, bringing the total confirmed cases among residents of the county to 893.
Big Stone County, Chippewa County, Meeker County and Redwood County each reported one new case. Stearns County had five new cases and Yellow Medicine County had two.
Statewide there are 432 new cases for a total of 85,351 with 9,265 of them being health care workers.
There were five additional deaths attributed to COVID-19, for a current total of 1,927.
Most of the deaths, 1,400 have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities, and 1,540 of the deaths were 70 years or older.
Statewide, there are 238 COVID patients currently in hospitals,131 of them being treated in ICUs.
The Minnesota Department of Health is also reporting that 78,953 of the state's reported positive cases no longer need to self-isolate.
So far in Minnesota, there have been approximately 1,733,292 completed tests since Jan. 20.
The information was included in the latest Minnesota Department of Health daily situation update, released at 11 a.m. daily. The data released are current as of 4 p.m. the day before.
