WILLMAR — There were 22 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Kandiyohi County in Tuesday's state report, and the confirmed county total sits at 1,349.

Statewide there are 1,150 new cases for a total of 114,574 with 11,773 of them being health care workers.

Regionally, with the exception of Big Stone and Pope counties, all west central Minnesota counties continued to see an uptick in positive cases, with Stearns County reporting 29 new positive cases and two new deaths for a total of 4,758 confirmed cases among patients residing in the county and 31 deaths. The deaths reported Tuesday are a person age 75-79 and a person age 80-84.

Chippewa County reported eight new cases for a total of 322 positive cases confirmed among residents there.

Meeker County reported four new cases for a total of 276 positive cases.

Lac qui Parle, Redwood and Renville County each reported two new cases for a total of 107, 216 and 210 positive cases, respectively.

Statewide, there were seven additional deaths attributed to COVID-19, for a current total of 2,151.

Most of the deaths, 1,524, have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities, and 1,718 of the deaths were 70 years or older.

The Minnesota Department of Health is also reporting that 102,624 of the state's reported positive cases no longer need to self-isolate.

So far in Minnesota, there have been approximately 2,355,124 completed tests of approximately 1,600,861 people since Jan. 20.

The information was included in the latest Minnesota Department of Health daily situation update, released at 11 a.m. daily. The data released are current as of 4 p.m. the day before.

The current number of COVID-19 cases among residents confirmed to reside in area counties includes:

  • Big Stone County: 110
  • Chippewa County: 322, up 8
  • Kandiyohi County: 1,349, up 18
  • Lac qui Parle County: 107, up 2
  • Meeker County: 276, up 4
  • Pope County: 124
  • Redwood County: 216, up 2
  • Renville County: 210, up 2
  • Stearns County: 4,758, up 33
  • Swift County: 174, up 1
  • Yellow Medicine County: 246, up 1
