WILLMAR — There were 12 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Kandiyohi County with Yellow Medicine County reporting an additional death in Sunday's state report.

Big Stone County reported two new confirmed cases, Chippewa County reported six new confirmed cases, Lac qui Parle reported one new confirmed case, Meeker County reported one new confirmed case, Pope County reported one new confirmed case, Redwood County reported four new confirmed cases, Renville County reported two new confirmed cases, Stearns County reported 80 new confirmed cases, Swift County reported one new confirmed case and Yellow Medicine County reported two new confirmed cases.

Yellow Medicine County's newly reported death was in the 90-94 age range.

Statewide there were 1,684 newly reported confirmed cases and two newly reported probable cases.

That brings the state's cumulative total to 133,802, which includes 133,431 confirmed and 371 probable cases.

Of the cumulative number of cases, 13,434 of them are health care workers.

There were 21 additional deaths attributed to COVID-19, for a current total of 2,335 deaths from confirmed cases and 14 from probable cases.

Most of the deaths, 1,645, have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities, and 1,875 of the deaths were 70 years or older.

The Minnesota Department of Health is also reporting that 118,485 of the state's reported positive cases no longer need to self-isolate.

So far in Minnesota, there have been approximately 2,686,302 completed tests, including 2,660,323 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and XXX antigen tests. And approximately 25,979 people have been tested since Jan. 20.

The information was included in the latest Minnesota Department of Health daily situation update, released at 11 a.m. daily. The data released are current as of 4 p.m. the day before.

  • Big Stone County: 138
  • Chippewa County: 434
  • Kandiyohi County: 1,669
  • Lac qui Parle County: 133
  • Meeker County: 326
  • Pope County: 156
  • Redwood County: 275
  • Renville County: 246
  • Stearns County: 5,774
  • Swift County: 201
  • Yellow Medicine County: 280
