WILLMAR — Kandiyohi County Public Health is holding a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for individuals over the age of 65 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Kandiyohi County Recycling Center at 1400 22nd St. S.W. in Willmar.
Appointments are required and can be made online starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at www.kcmn.us/covid-19. No appointments will be made over the telephone. Those wanting to make an appointment must have an email address to receive updates. Anyone who might have difficulty registering online is being urged to reach out to family and friends for assistance.
There is a very limited amount of vaccine available and appointments will fill up quickly.
The clinic will be drive-thru only and no one will be allowed to leave their vehicles. Volunteers and county staff will be on hand to direct traffic and signs will be posted.
Seniors who make an appointment to receive a shot need to bring proof of identification to the clinic. The shot is free and no insurance information is required.
After getting the shot, people will need to wait for 15 minutes of observation time in the parking lot of the Dorothy Olson Aquatic Center before leaving.
Kandiyohi County Public Health is urging people to share this information within their community to help spread the word. Additional clinics will be scheduled as vaccine becomes available.
