WILLMAR — Most of the 11 counties in the region being followed by the West Central Tribune reported no new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, with 17 cases being reported overall. The case count is from the daily Minnesota Department of Health COVID-19 situation report.
Stearns County reported 12 new cases; Pope County reported two new cases; Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle and Renville counties each reported one new case.
Big Stone, Chippewa, Meeker, Redwood, Swift and Yellowstone counties did not report any new cases Tuesday.
There were no deaths reported in the region.
Statewide there were 443 newly reported cases overall.

That brings the state's cumulative total to 485,655.
Of the cumulative number of cases, 37,840 of them have been among health care workers.
There were four additional deaths attributed to COVID-19, for a current total of 6,490 deaths. Most of the deaths, 4,057, have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities, and 5,372 of the deaths were 70 years or older.
The information was included in the latest Minnesota Department of Health daily situation update, released at 11 a.m. daily. The data released are current as of 4 p.m. the day before.
Since the start of the pandemic, the number of COVID-19 cases among residents confirmed to reside in area counties and the number of deaths includes:
- Big Stone County: 516 cases; 3 deaths
- Chippewa County: 1,363 cases; 35 deaths
- Kandiyohi County: 5,795 cases; 74 deaths
- Lac qui Parle County: 684 cases; 16 deaths
- Meeker County: 2,074 cases; 34 deaths
- Pope County: 804 cases; 5 deaths
- Redwood County: 1,470 cases; 27 deaths
- Renville County: 1,496 cases; 40 deaths
- Stearns County: 18,734 cases; 201 deaths
- Swift County: 879 cases; 18 deaths
- Yellow Medicine County: 976 cases; 17 deaths
The state is now also reporting daily vaccine administration numbers. The vaccine is not yet available to the general public.
As of Tuesday’s report, 908,590 people have received one dose and 472,789 have completed the two-shot vaccine series statewide.
According to the figures available Tuesday, the number of individuals who have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine in area counties includes:
Big Stone: 1,457
Lac qui Parle: 1,937
Yellow Medicine: 2,590
The vaccine data web page is updated at 11 a.m. daily, but it can take up to 48 hours for data to be reported to the state and processed.
