WILLMAR — An individual in their early 80s from Stearns County has reportedly died from COVID-19, according to the state's daily situation report. The state reported 14 new deaths Thursday.
The 11-county area that West Central tracks reported a total of 146 new cases Thursday, with Stearns County reporting 85 new cases and Kandiyohi County reporting 22.
Redwood County reported 12 new cases; Renville County reported nine new cases; Meeker County reported eight new cases; Pope County reported four new cases; Yellow Medicine County reported three new cases; Chippewa County reported two new cases; Swift County reported one new case.
Big Stone and Lac qui Parle counties reported no new cases in Thursday's report

The state reported 2,535 new cases, bringing its cumulative number of cases to 535,182.
Of the cumulative number of cases, 39,741 of them have been among health care workers.
The state’s current total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 is now at 6,922. Most of the deaths, 4,304, have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities, and 5,727 of the people who died were 70 or older.
Since the start of the pandemic, the number of COVID-19 cases among residents confirmed to reside in area counties and the number of deaths includes:
Big Stone County: 554 cases; 4 deaths
Chippewa County: 1,434 cases; 36 deaths
Kandiyohi County: 6,151 cases; 79 deaths
Lac qui Parle County: 728 cases; 22 deaths
Meeker County: 2,245 cases; 37 deaths
Pope County: 977 cases; 6 deaths
Redwood County: 1,617 cases; 35 deaths
Renville County: 1,651 cases; 43 deaths
Stearns County: 20,346 cases; 213 deaths
Swift County: 963 cases; 18 deaths
Yellow Medicine County: 1,075 cases; 18 deaths
The state is now also reporting daily vaccine administration numbers. As of Thursday’s report, 1,900,248 people have received one dose and 1,247,045 have completed the vaccine series statewide.
The percent of people age 16 and over who have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine in area counties ranges from 36% of residents in Meeker County to 59% in Big Stone County. To date, 41% of residents age 16 and over in Kandiyohi County have had at least one dose of the vaccine.

Big Stone: 2,388
Lac qui Parle: 2,817
Yellow Medicine: 3,946
The vaccine data web page is updated at 11 a.m. daily, but it can take up to 48 hours for data to be reported to the state and processed.
