WILLMAR — The 11-county region tracked by the West Central Tribune reported 116 new COVID-19 cases and no deaths on Friday, according to an update from the Minnesota Department of Health.
Stearns County reported 65 new cases and Kandiyohi County added 23.
Swift and Renville counties each reported six new cases, and Chippewa and Meeker counties each reported five. Redwood County reported four cases, and Pope County reported two. Big Stone, Lac qui Parle and Yellow Medicine counties had no new cases.

The state added 1,977 cases to its total, bringing the state's cumulative number of cases to 575,812. There were 16 new deaths.
Of the cumulative number of cases, 41,377 of them have been among health care workers.
The state’s current total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 is now at 7,144. Most of the deaths, 4,367, have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities, and 5,867 of the people who died were 70 or older.
Since the start of the pandemic, the number of COVID-19 cases among residents confirmed to reside in area counties and the number of deaths includes:
Big Stone County: 588 cases; 4 deaths
Chippewa County: 1,508 cases; 38 deaths
Kandiyohi County: 6,432 cases; 81 deaths
Lac qui Parle County: 748 cases; 22 deaths
Meeker County: 2,472 cases; 38 deaths
Pope County: 1,061 cases; 6 deaths
Redwood County: 1,697 cases; 36 deaths
Renville County: 1,765 cases; 43 deaths
Stearns County: 21,722 cases; 220 deaths
Swift County: 1,032 cases; 18 deaths
Yellow Medicine County: 1,132 cases; 20 deaths
The state is now also reporting daily vaccine administration numbers. As of Friday’s report, 2,533,459 people have received at least one dose and 1,893,516 have completed the vaccine series statewide.
The percent of eligible people — those age 16 and over — who have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine in area counties ranges from 43 percent of residents in Meeker County to 64 percent in Big Stone County. To date, 47 percent of residents age 16 and over in Kandiyohi County have had at least one dose of the vaccine.
According to the figures available Thursday, the number of individuals who have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine in area counties includes:
Big Stone: 2,611
Lac qui Parle: 3,029
Yellow Medicine: 4,287
The vaccine data web page is updated at 11 a.m. daily, but it can take up to 48 hours for data to be reported to the state and processed.
