Kandiyohi County surpasses 500 confirmed COVID-19 cases

WILLMAR — There were seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Kandiyohi County in Tuesday's state report, bringing the total confirmed cases among residents of the county to 504.

Statewide there are 310 new cases for a total of 25,508 with 2,764 of them being health care workers.

There were 22 additional deaths attributed to COVID-19, for a current total of 1,072.

Most of the deaths, 866, have occurred in long-term care or assisted living facilities and 881 of the deaths were 70 years or older.

Nursing homes in the region that have a confirmed COVID-19 exposure include Belgrade Nursing Home, Bethesda Grand in Willmar, Clara City Care Center in Clara City, GlenOaks Senior Living Campus in New London and Meeker Manor Rehab Center in Litchfield.

Statewide, there are 537 COVID patients currently in hospitals, 248 of them being treated in ICUs.

The Minnesota Department of Health is also reporting that 20,381 of the state's reported positive cases no longer need to self-isolate.

So far in Minnesota, there have been approximately 258,747 completed tests since Jan. 20.

The information was included in the latest Minnesota Department of Health daily situation update , released at 11 a.m. daily. The data released are current as of 4 p.m. the day before.

The current number of confirmed COVID-19 cases for area counties includes:

Big Stone County: 8

Chippewa County: 51

Kandiyohi County: 504

Redwood County: 6

Renville County: 5

Stearns County: 2,042

Swift County: 19

Yellow Medicine County: 6
