College Volleyball: Warriors still undefeated

LA CROSSE, Wis. — Ridgewater volleyball made it five wins in a row to start the season with a 3-0 victory over Western Technical College Wednesday night.

The Warriors brought forth a combined attacking effort in the front row as eight different players logged a kill. As a team, they finished with 37 kills and Ashley Froelich led the way with nine kills.

"We were able to run all of our routes offensively and maintained defensive control in the front and back row," said Ridgewater head coach Joe Sussenguth. "It was great to have balanced contributions from many."

The Warriors may have their largest test of the season this weekend at the College of DuPage tournament. They'll play four games, with the last one against Harper College, the same team that defeated Ridgewater in the NJCAA National Championship last season. The tournament gets going at 3 p.m. Friday against the hosts, DuPage, followed by perennial powerhouse Madison College at 7 p.m.
